BREAKING: Highly effective earthquake measuring 6.2 strikes Indonesia

Indonesia has been hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2.

The tremor has struck Sumatra.

Shaking from the quake was felt as far-off as Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.

It struck at 12:06am native time on Friday at a depth of about 10 km, which makes it a shallow earthquake.

Residents throughout the area reported feeling robust shaking, together with in Kambang, Painan, Padang, Bukittinggi, and different locations in Southern Sumatra.

One resident stated: ”Sufficient to wake me from sleep and lengthy sufficient to make me panicked.”

One other witness stated: “I’m now in Payakumbuh and this tremor feels fairly robust.

“Lamp shaking, and you’ll felt it if you find yourself standing.”

There have been no instant reviews of great harm or casualties.

Indonesia is on the so-called ‘Pacific Ring of Fireplace’, an arc of fault traces circling the Pacific Basin that’s susceptible to frequent and huge earthquakes.

No tsunami warnings have been put into place as they’re usually reserved for earthquakes of a magnitude 7 or larger.
