Pippa Middleton shows off new short bob hairstyle – was she inspired by big sister Kate?

Pippa Middleton, 34, visited the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children as part of her work as an ambassador for British Heart Foundation.

All eyes were on the newlywed as she met sick children and their parents at the hospital.

The middle Middleton child took the opportunity to show off a new haircut, and her normally long brunette locks had been chopped into a blunt bob.

Pippa has become as well known for her glossy hair as her older sister, Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge.

But it was all change today as Pippa showed off her shorter style, and it was reminiscent of the short bob Kate showed off earlier this year, and which she has kept at shoulder length ever since.

Pippa teamed her new hairstyle with a navy polo neck jumper which fitted very close to her body and showed off her tiny waist and toned arms.

She finished this off with a rainbow stripe A-line skirt which came down to her ankles.

Keeping her overall look low-key, Pippa sis not wear much make-up, sticking to a hint of blusher and perfectly groomed eyebrows.

Her massive engagement and wedding rings could be seen glittering on her finger, but no other jewellery was visible.

Pippa has cut her hair shorter as she hits her mid-thirties, and it has been said a short hairstyle can make a woman look four years younger.

The research – from a survey of 1,000 people by Crown Clinic in Manchester – found that long hair on women which hangs down on both sides creates a vertical focus, adding more gravity to the face.

Crown Clinic hair transplant Asim Shahmalak said: “Hair is the most important factor in ageing us all.

Get your hair right and you can take years off your age.

“This is evident in female style icons like the Duchess of Cambridge who looks younger and fresher with her shorter hair. “

Half of respondents in the research (54 per cent) said that longer hair was harder to take care of and poorly maintained hair was one of the biggest ageing factors.

And 74 per cent of those polled said that it was more difficult to disguise greying if you wear your hair long.
