Scott McTominay discusses first Man Utd goal: It is the best moment of my life

Manchester United eased to victory over their Norwegian opponents with the new Premier League season now just two weeks away.

McTominay was handed his debut by Jose Mourinho last season, coming on during a 2-0 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates.

He then started Manchester United’s final game of the Premier League season, impressing in a 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace.

Mctominay is one for the future and is now off the mark for his boyhood club, helping put Valerenga to the sword with Marouane Fellaini and Romelu Lukaku also getting in on the act.

And the 20-year-old has heralded the occasion as ‘the greatest moment of my life.’

“Coming over with the first team for a start and just playing games with them in pre-season and then obviously to get my first senior goal – it’s the best feeling in the world,” he said.

“It’s the best moment of my life so you just want more and more of this.

“This is what you work for every single day in training, dedicating yourself.

“I’m just going to enjoy it now and push forward to do my best.”

McTominay also praised the influence the likes of Paul Pogba and Michael Carrick are having on him.

“For me, it’s brilliant to be away with them,” he added.

“Seeing how they prepare, what they do before games and during training, watching players like Paul Pogba or, in my position, Michael Carrick, and just learning as much as I can from them.

“I couldn’t be at a better place.”
