Winds of Winter SHOCK: Does THIS prove Ned Stark will be found ALIVE?

The Lord of Winterfell may only have appeared in A Game of Thrones, the first novel in Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire, but could he be making a come back?

The newly crowned King Joffrey had Ned beheaded for treason, when really his late father Robert Baratheon had asked that he rule as Protector of the Realm.

Such an execution was the big spark of the War of the Five Kings, but what if somehow Ned survived and will be revealed as alive and well in the upcoming The Winds of Winter?

Martin may still be working on the new novel, but a programmer and fan called Zack Thoutt has fed an AI the five previous books so it could write the next part of the narrative – which includes some intriguing plot twists.

The grammar and wording may be a little off, but having analysed the previous 5,476 pages of the story, the AI revealed Ned as still alive.

In the first of five chapters, it wrote: “It made Ned better stop until the fire was falling, standing beneath the arch of a shattered still distant field where the shadow tower paid the camp behind.

“The elder brother had known no sun and chunks of broken buildings and ash wailing towns; four hundred thousand ravens, his own torsos.”

It may seem far-fetched, but Ned could still be alive if the fan theory that Jaqen H’ghar of the Faceless Men replaced Ned with an imposter at the execution, is true – after all Jaqen was a prisoner in the Red Keep at the same time.

Other popular theories the AI predicted included poisoned by Varys and .

Thoutt added: “I guess that validates that anything can happen in Game of Thrones. I didn’t feed it anything from fan theory websites, only the books.”

Since the AI analysed the first five books, could it have stumbled upon some subtle hints that fans have too?
