Britney Spears shocks fans with LIVE performance – after slamming miming accusations

The star has often been accused of relying almost exclusively on pre-recorded playback during her live shows, but proved last night she is in as fine voice as ever.

She performed a spontaneous version of Bonnie Raitt’s 1991 hit Something To Talk About – to the delight of all in attendance.

Beforehand, she had said: “I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately. This morning I woke up and looked at the news and there’s a lot of things going on in the world and stuff.

“But basically – the press and the media, my whole life – one minute they tear you down and the next you’re on top of the world.

“I’ve never really spoken about it. And I’m a Southern girl, from Louisiana, from the south and I like to keep it real.

“So I just wanna make sure I keep giving the motherf**kers something to talk about, OK?”

In June, she had gone on the record as denying that she relies too much on playback during her live shows, saying she was frustrated to not have been given more credit for her singing.

“It’s really funny, a lot of people think that I don’t sing live,” she told an Israeli TV station.

“Because I’m dancing so much, I do have a little bit of playback… there’s a mixture of my voice and playback.

“It really p*sses me off because I’m busting my a** out there and singing at the same time. And nobody ever really gives me credit for it.”

Her Vegas residency will close at the end of the year.
