Chelsea boss Antonio Conte can't stop LAUGHING when asked about Diego Costa transfer

Costa gave an explosive interview earlier in the week in which he claimed he was being treated like a criminal at Chelsea having been exiled by Conte.

“I wouldn’t be allowed access to the first-team dressing room and I would have no contact with the guys. I’m not a criminal,” he said.

“I don’t think it is fair after all I have done to be treated like that. I am not in the wrong here. So, if they need to fine me, let them fine me.

“I take the hit every week but I’m not driven by money. You know that the manager doesn’t want me. I am waiting for Chelsea to set me free.

“I didn’t want to leave. I was happy. When the manager does not want you, you have to go.”

And the subject of Costa’s “criminal” comments came up in Conte’s press conference ahead of their clash with Tottenham on Sunday.

But the Italian struggled to answer the question as he battled with his emotions to respond to the journalist”s questions.

“I prefer to laugh,” he said.

“I can tell you everyone knows at Chelsea what happened with him last season. It is funny this interview.

“I am not interested in continuing this situation. It is the past.”

Earlier this afternoon Diego Costa released another statement expressing his anger towards Chelsea for blocking his exit.

The Blues have requested he return to training but the Spain international is adamant he will leave for Atletico Madrid.

Atletico are thought to have offered £26million for his services but Chelsea are holding out for close to £50m.

The saga continues.
