Daniel Craig undecided on James Bond return

Daniel Craig has denied rumours he signed a deal to reprise his role as secret agent James Bond.

The 49-year-old has starred in the last four 007 films and reports suggested he would stay on for the next two instalments of the blockbuster franchise.

However, Craig says he remains undecided and has “personal decisions” to make.

“I would hate to burst the bubble here, but no decision has been made at the moment, there’s a lot of noise out there and nothing official has been confirmed,” he told an American radio station.

“I’m not holding out for money or doing anything like that, it’s just all very personal decisions to be made at the moment.”

He added: “I know they are desperate to get going and I would in theory love to do it but there is no decision just yet.”

Last month, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer announced the next Bond film will arrive in cinemas in 2019, scripted by long-standing 007 writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade.

The announcement came amid rumours that Craig would not be playing Bond again, after he told Time Out magazine in 2015 that he would “rather slash my wrists” than do it again.

He later excused his comments, saying he had “the best job in the world”, and “will keep doing it as long as I still get a kick out of it”.

Craig succeeded Pierce Brosnan as Bond in Casino Royale (2006), before going on to star in Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012) and Spectre (2015).
