East 17's Brian Harvey held over 'malicious tweets'


Former East 17 band member Brian Harvey has been arrested over claims he despatched malicious tweets.

The 43-year-old singer, who made his title within the 90s boy band, is being questioned by police in north London.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed they acquired an allegation of malicious communications regarding a Twitter account.

Officers mentioned in a press release: “On Wednesday, 22 November, a person in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of malicious communications and has been taken to a north London police station. Enquiries proceed. “

Harvey bought hundreds of thousands of data as one quarter of pop group East 17, alongside Tony Mortimer, John Hendy and Terry Coldwell.

Initially employed as a backing singer and dancer, he was rapidly promoted to guide singer due to his vocal skills.

Nonetheless, Harvey’s feedback over Class A drug ecstasy throughout a 1997 radio interview led to his swift departure from the group.
