Real Madrid transfer news: Borussia Dortmund star Aubameyang offered in deadline day swoop

After winning La Liga and the Champions League last term, Real Madrid have had a relatively quiet transfer window so far.

The likes of Alvaro Morata, James Rodriguez and Pepe have departed with Theo Hernandez and Dani Ceballos their biggest arrivals.

However, Spanish website Diario Gol claim they have been offered the chance to sign Borussia Dortmund hitman Aubameyang by the striker himself.

The striker is supposedly determined to quit the Bundesliga side, and was angry at their decision to sell Ousmane Dembele to Barcelona earlier this week.

Dembele was allowed to leave just a year after arriving from Ligue 1 side Rennes, with Dortmund receiving a huge £97million up front from the deal.

Diario Gol say Aubameyang is also hellbent on moving to Spain and playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo in particular.

But, in bad news for Real fans, club president Florentino Perez will not be signing the Gabon international.

It is said manager Zinedine Zidane feels he would not be an upgrade on Gareth Bale at the focal point of their attack.

Bale continues to be linked with a move to England with Manchester United but Madrid are not interested in selling him.

Additionally, Real Madrid were offered the chance to sign Aubameyang ‘years ago.’

But Perez again discarded the deal, instead opting to place his faith in Morata and Karim Benzema.

Aubameyang has also been linked with moves to Chelsea and Liverpool yet the Premier League duo appear to be looking elsewhere.
