Real Madrid ‘welcome’ Barcelona star Lionel Messi as Twitter account is hacked

But the tweet, sent in the early hours of this morning, appears to be the latest hack of an account on Twitter.

The post on Real’s Twitter said: “Benvingut Messi! ¡Bienvenido Messi! Welcome Messi! Bienvenue Messi! #Messi.”

And was accompanied by a video of Messi scoring for Barcelona against Real Madrid last season.

Earlier this week, a group calling themselves OurMine claimed responsibility for hacking Barcelona’s Facebook and Twitter pages.

They sent a post announcing the signing of PSG winger Angel Di Maria saying: “Welcome Angel Di Maria to FC Barcelona #DiMariaFB.”

Another tweet said: “Let’s get #FCBHack trending on Twitter”.

Both were later deleted with Barcelona confirming they had been victims of a hack.

They tweeted: “Our accounts have been hacked tonight. We’re working to solve the problem as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience.
