Smirnoff vodka heiress ‘in plot to steal £2k from ex’

Russian socialite Marinika Smirnova, 34, who is related to the Smirnoff family, allegedly hired Robin Murray, 28, to take £2,000 worth of property from the London home of her ex-husband Sergei Windsor.

Mr Windsor, also known as Sergei Kapchuk, is a former deputy in the Sverdlovsk region in Russia’s Ural Mountains.

Mr Murray is said to have entered his home in Chelsea in May last year with documents stating he was a court bailiff.

He allegedly took two Apple Macs, a Samsung TV, a watch, a printer, and audio recorder, with a total value of £2,000.

Model Ms Smirnova, who was crowned Mrs Russia in 2008, denied conspiracy to commit fraud at Isleworth Crown Court on Friday.

Mr Murray, from Warlingham, Surrey, also denied burglary and fraud. They will go on trial in November.

After moving to Britain in 2009, Ms Smirnova became a star of the reality television show Meet the Russians, which documented the lives of wealthy Russians in London.

She grew up in Moscow and worked as a model and TV presenter before marrying.

She and her former husband moved to the UK in 2009 and lived in a mansion in Surrey.

She now lives in Kensington in West London.

In 2014 her name was linked to Irish actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers, who appeared in Bend It Like Beckham. She insisted they were “just friends”.

Ms Smirnova has also been pictured with Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp.

She is the great-niece of Pierre Smirnoff, who began distilling vodka in Moscow in 1818. Her mother, Elena Kolesnikova was a gymnast.
